Lunch served\, face painting\, music and games.\nBald Knob Mountain offers one of the premier views for Fall Colors in the entire Midwest all at the site of one of the world’s largest crosses.\nFood Trucks and Local Vendors will be on site for the duration of the event. Photo Ops will be available throughout the grounds. Event T-Shirts will be available\nVendors will be available with local arts and crafts\, photography\, and inspirational gifts. \nEntrance fee $10.00 per car.

SUMMARY:Boo at the Slough
DESCRIPTION:This program engages elementary to middle school age children on a guided trick-or-treat adventure through the Wetlands Center and along the Egret Slough Trail. The half-mile trail will give families a chance to interact with misunderstood creatures of the swamp and enjoy the magic of Halloween. Children are welcome to wear costumes.\nThis is a free event and open to the public and offered by Illinois Department of Natural Resources\, Friends of the Cache\, and University of Illinois Extension.

Costumes are encouraged.\nThe Haunted Hollow will go on rain or shine so we encourage participants to dress accordingly for the day’s weather.\nFestivities include:\nA haunted hayride\nA haunted cabin (but not too scary)\nFrightening foods\nInterpretive nature walks\nA portable climbing wall\nFamily games for children of all ages\nParticipants will also learn about and have the chance to hold snakes\, lizards and other ‘creepy crawlers.’
