You won’t want to miss it! \nChildren 17 & Under – Free\nAdults – $7 Suggested Donation (but no one is turned away) \nThe Pumpkin Glow is a family-oriented event\, with no jump scares to upset your little ones. This woodland trail is well-groomed and offers firm\, flat footing which can accommodate strollers. Walkers and wheelchair users are welcome but need to feel comfortable on natural terrain with small elevation changes. While we normally love your four-footed family members to visit our trails\, we ask that you leave your pets at home during this event. \nFree Parking is accessible from Oakland and Ready Mix Roads.\nFree Hayrides from the parking lots are available ? (and part of the fun!).

SUMMARY:Boo at the Slough
DESCRIPTION:This program engages elementary to middle school age children on a guided trick-or-treat adventure through the Wetlands Center and along the Egret Slough Trail. The half-mile trail will give families a chance to interact with misunderstood creatures of the swamp and enjoy the magic of Halloween. Children are welcome to wear costumes.\nThis is a free event and open to the public and offered by Illinois Department of Natural Resources\, Friends of the Cache\, and University of Illinois Extension.

Costumes are encouraged.\nThe Haunted Hollow will go on rain or shine so we encourage participants to dress accordingly for the day’s weather.\nFestivities include:\nA haunted hayride\nA haunted cabin (but not too scary)\nFrightening foods\nInterpretive nature walks\nA portable climbing wall\nFamily games for children of all ages\nParticipants will also learn about and have the chance to hold snakes\, lizards and other ‘creepy crawlers.’
