Sat. 10:00 am Jonesboro Cemetery Program – S.A.R. & D.A.R. Dedication of 2 Revolutionary Soldiers’ stones and 1812 Soldier’s stone, a visit from “Abe Lincoln”, and a Cemetery Walk with 20 Costumed Characters from Jonesboro’s past 200 years. (No vehicles allowed in the cemetery. Shuttles from Jonesboro First Baptist Church Lot beginning at 9:00 am.)
10:30 AM: (Immediately following): A Walking Tour of the cemetery graves with Abraham Lincoln and his friends. Reenactors will be present to help guide the tour.
All Day, there will be a Driving Tour of important sites in the history of Jonesboro. Houses and business will be noted, and a printed guide will be provided so you may go at any time.
1-4 PM The Jonesboro City Library, the former Jonesboro Train Depot, will be open with an exhibit of original artifacts from the old station. Train enthusiasts will have trains on exhibit and will be acting as guides for the public.
1-3 PM: A tour of churches in and around Jonesboro will be held. Map available with the locations at our booth.
Town Festival continues – 10am – 8pm: Self-Guided Driving Tours, Church Tours 1pm -3pm, Library/Depot display open 1-4pm, P.A.S.T. Heritage House open 1-4pm. Jonesboro Pictorial History book for $35, Information and Souvenirs at the Bicentennial Table at the Festival.
