Freedom Sings USA – Anna, IL
April 16 - April 18
This event pairs professional songwriter with veterans, military personnel, and their families to help them tell their stories through song. The five veterans chosen to participate are: Donnie Spurlock (Iraq), Mark Haddick (Vietnam), Jean Few (Vietnam), Don Fotheringham (98, Iwo Jima), and Jack Edwards (99, South Pacific).
The schedule is:
April 16, Thursday, 6 pm: Veterans meet their Songwriter at a Dinner and the songwriters will do a Writer’s Round concert. It is at the VFW, 70 VFW Lane, Anna, IL. It is open to the public – everyone is invited. Cost $15. Please RSVP by April 10, 2026 to 1-904-625-1109 or vabchlee@gmail.com.
April 17, Friday, 7 pm: Writers’ Round Concert. It is Free and Everyone is invited. Davie’s School Inn Gym, 300 Freeman St, Anna, IL 62906
April 18, Saturday, 6 pm: Concert – Veteran recognition and Song Premiere. It is Free and Everyone is invited to support the veterans. It is at East Davie Park, Anna, IL.
