‘Christmas in the Village’ Cobden. Santa Claus, strolling carolers, surrey rides, Christmas Bazaars and lighting of the village tree. There will also be Mini Walking Tours Scheduled to see some of Cobden’s Historical Buildings, along with other activities and entertainment. 618/893-2425
A Live Nativity Display by the Cobden Baptist Church will be on display at the corner of Maple and Appleknocker.
A Disc Golf Tournament will be at the Community Park Registration at 9 am. 618 893 2425.

The Old Feed Store, 111 N. Appleknocker, 9a.m.-3p.m., open house featuring Hospitality Table with refreshments and other spirit of Christmas activities are planned. Local artisans and craft/art vendors will be set-up (for vendor info call Brooke Miller 618/614-2251). Lunch will be served. Santa Claus will visit from noon-3p.m. and goody bags will be given to the kids. Santa will be escorted to the Feed Store at noon by the Cobden Fire Department. Free wagon rides will be given during the day starting at 1p.m. Massage by Cherry and Reflexology by Chuck will be present.
Shop-With-A-Cop Pancake Breakfast (Cobden Police Department), Cobden Elementary Cafeteria, 413 N. Appleknocker, 7-10:30a.m. Cost: $7 adults; $3 children.
Cobden Christmas in the Village Random Draw Doubles Disc Golf Tournament, Cobden Community Park, Locust Street. Registration 9a.m., starts at 10a.m. Contact John Wingate 618/697-2479.
Walking History Tour: 11a.m. and 3p.m. Meet at Downtown Abbey, corner of W. Oak and N. Appleknocker. Local historian Judy Travelstead will discuss the histories of the Downtown Abbey block, the bridge, and the Broadway House (funeral home) and Phillips House (current home of Allie Jane Davis) on N. Front Street.
Exhibit at Union County Historical and Genealogy Resource and Cultural Center (former Medical Clinic),
103 N. Appleknocker, 10a.m.-4p.m. “Bears‘n Chairs” exhibit of vintage stuffed bears in chairs featured in the Nimmo-Walter Gallery. A collection of vintage Christmas photos will be on display.
Christmas Shop at Union County Museum, 117 S. Appleknocker, 8a.m.-4:00p.m., featuring Christmas decorations, artificial trees, collectibles, gifts, and other related items for sale. Museum will be open.
St. Joseph Church Bazaar, 304 W. Ash (west side of town, Parish Hall behind church), 8a.m.-3p.m., featuring home-made goodies, jellies, crafts, gifts, and raffle (including a beautiful quilt and baby quilt by the late Betty Cerny). Lunch served 10:30a.m.-2p.m. (will be serving a variety of homemade soups). There will be an exhibit of artwork done by the late Father Fed Higuera. Carl Dasenbrock will be demonstrating hand carving throughout the day.
Apostolic Lighthouse Church Bazaar, 432 S. Front, 9a.m.-2p.m. Home-made goodies including Christmas candies, cookies, pies, cakes, and relishes.
Pack Rats Paradise (antique mall), 220 S. Front, 10a.m.-5p.m.
Southpass Beads &Fibers Open House, 203 E. Ash, 10a.m.-5p.m. Open House with fresh baked breads and beverages. Open Studio: you are welcome to bring your works in progress and continue working on it or start something new (knitting, crochet, embroidery, beading, cross stitch). 20% off yard and seed beads.
Cobden School Band will play in the downtown park at 4:30p.m. (weather permitting).
