Wine, Dine and Climb in Southern Illinois

Great coffee stop at Hebrews in Jonesboro, they have a drive thru and even serve breakfast. Try Kiki’s Coffee House and Davis Pastry located in downtown Anna just a few doors down from Annabelle Market where you can take your picture in front of the angel wings in photo alley! Then head on inside, where you will find local honey and lavender products, decor, jewelry, books and lots of
treasurers! Even got some stuff for the guys! (open Tues-Sat)
Now that you have your angel wings (at least your picture taken with wings), it’s time to head to Bald Knob Cross… a majestic location that sits on top of the 2nd highest point in Southern Illinois. There have been many couples that have gotten engaged, married or renewed their vows at Bald Knob Cross (hint, hint). It is a must see location and always a favorite!
Raise a glass and celebrate romance at nearly a dozen wineries along the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Some of these places feature delicious food, wine, beer and other spirits guaranteed to make your stay memorable.
Adventure can be found too. The Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tours give visitors a bird’s eye view of the Shawnee National Forest. Eight zip lines cover the 80 plus acres of land. It’s the perfect spot to add a little outdoor adventure for a romantic getaway in Illinois. There’s plenty of fun to have on the zip lines no matter the season.
