26 Apr River to River Yard Sale
2nd River To River Yard Sale this July 6-9, 2017.
The idea for the River to River yard sale came from Julie Ames and her sister Sabra Smith, visiting the 100 mile yard sale, in a neighboring state. After visiting that successful event they decided to start a similar event in Southernmost Illinois. The event is planned to be held the Thursday through Sunday after the 4th of July each year.
The River to River yard sale will follow Hwy. 146 from East Cape to Cave In Rock on July 6-9, 2017. Residents along this route are encouraged to clean out attics, basements, closets and storage sheds and offer items they would like to sell. Community wide yard sales are being planned all along the route.
If you want to hold a yard sale of your own, the best thing to do is contact property owners directly who live along Hwy. 146. If you would like some ideas of where you can set up contact Julie Ames at 618-697-2435 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
There is no cost to attend the yard sales. Organizers say bring cash, because many holding yard sales will not accept personal checks, and aren’t set up to take debit or credit cards.
